Iacocca Institute
The Iacocca Institute, jointly formed in 1988 by Lee A. Iacocca and Lehigh University, is dedicated to increasing the global competitiveness of American organizations. Organized as a vision-focused action-oriented group, the Iacocca Institute was directed to help companies help themselves and to provide the best learning experiences for today’s leaders. Our expertise lies in programs that focus on business and industry knowledge, leadership and entrepreneurial skills, and global networks and cultures.

The Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry, a six week summer program, brings together almost 100 interns and alumni from around the world. Each summer, through networking and cultural events, entrepreneurial projects and leadership experiences, Global Villagers take the first step towards building a lasting global network. MBA students are invited to attend Global Village sessions and functions and to network and interact with these professional and graduate level interns from more than 36 countries. Many Global Village interns have gone on to pursue their MBAs through Lehigh and add to the global diversity of the program.

Martindale Center
The Martindale Center for the Study of Private Enterprise was established in 1980 through a generous endowment provided by Elizabeth Fairchild Martindale and Harry Turner Martindale (Lehigh ’27). An interdisciplinary resource in Lehigh University’s College of Business and Economics, the Martindale Center advances educational and scholarly programs to increase understanding of the U.S. economy and its relationship with the world economy.

The Martindale Center cooperates with other centers, institutes, departments, and organizations both on and off campus to sponsor programs that benefit students, faculty, alumni, and the community at large. The Center is a model of experience-based learning that exemplifies the university’s educational goal of training leaders for the global society and provides insight into an interconnected global economy within an intellectually rich atmosphere.

Since its establishment, the Center has sought to provide a platform for the exploration of issues to enhance the education of Lehigh students and promote faculty research. The collaboration of students, faculty, and alumni provides for diverse forums about business and economic issues, often bringing its constituencies into close communication with internationally recognized scholars and distinguished practitioners from business, industry, and public life.

NIBES
Lehigh is a member of the Network of International Business & Economics Schools (NIBES), an association of business programs spanning five continents and 16 countries. The 10-year-old global network is designed to promote collaboration between partnering institutions, essentially serving as a forum to discuss both problems and opportunities facing today’s business schools. At the heart of NIBES are its exchange programs, both for students and faculty. The network also offers its members joint research and academic programs, as well as the opportunity to explore field-based educational opportunities.
