In general, international applicants must have 16 years of formal education, including four years at the university level, to be considered for admission to Lehigh's MBA program. Applicants should submit official English translations in addition to credentials in the original language.  If credentials do not record the awarding of the degree received, you must submit certified true copies of your diplomas.  If credentials do not show the grading system used by the university, you must also submit a separate official statement from the university that gives this information. Several academic credential evaluation services are available to international students who can not provide the required international documentation.  The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services® (NACES) lists a number of accredited evaluation services from which applicants may choose. 


Test of English as a Foreign Language® (TOEFL)
Applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language®(TOEFL).

Your TOEFL score may not be older than 2 years at the time of your application to the program. Lehigh’s MBA program will continue to accept all versions of the TOEFL test as long as the scores come directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Scores must be received directly from ETS to be considered official. Lehigh’s institution code number is 2365, department code 02.

Recommended scores for the three available versions are as follows:

Paper Based TOEFL – 600
Computer Based TOEFL (CAT) – 250
Internet Based TOEFL (iBT) – 94

Recommended iBT Subscores:

If you have completed a baccalaureate degree in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia or Canada, you may be exempt from the TOEFL.  You are not exempt if the language of instruction is English in a non-English speaking country or if you have lived in an English-speaking country for several years. Financial Guarantee
International students must submit an original or notarized financial guarantee demonstrating sufficient funds to meet educational expenses for the first year of study. Original bank statements or bank letters are acceptable.  Include an original letter of sponsorship if the expenses will be paid by someone other than you.  The minimum amount you must cover to show solvency for immigration documents is $27,610 and includes the following costs:

Immigration documents will only be issued upon an offer of admission from Lehigh University and verification of your original financial guarantee and TOEFL score has been completed.

Lehigh University SPEAK score
It is strongly recommended that international students submit the new internet-based TOEFL score (iBT) in support of their application. The program will use the new iBT as a tool for the awarding of financial aid. You must achieve an iBT speaking section score of 28 and an iBT listening section score of 20 in order to be considered for awards. All awards are contingent upon passing the Lehigh University SPEAK test with a score of 230 upon arrival at Lehigh. International applicants visiting the university may take a SPEAK exam free of charge if an application to the MBA program has been filed. Pennsylvania state law mandates that all international graduate students who have contact with undergraduate students during the course of their duties have evidence on file of their English proficiency.
